1. Using the topic that has been assigned to you to formulate your PICO question, conduct a ROL of primary (research) literature that addresses your topic. Of the three PICO topics that you selected for that assignment, you only need to select and address one of the PICO questions for the ROL assignment. Carefully read and use the rubric to include the following important features:
a. Search databases to find at least 7 references that are related to the PICO question that is central to your search. Five of those references must be primary/research references. It is preferred that you focus on nursing research given that is your discipline/profession.
b. Use the matrix to summarize the articles that you are incorporating into your ROL. The matrix must be submitted as an appendix to your final paper.
c. Identify the level of evidence for each of the studies that you include in your ROL.
d. It is essential that you incorporate discussion about how the articles are relevant to practice.
e. It is important for you to assess where there are gaps in the literature.
2. This is a scholarly paper that is considered to meet the university’s core curriculum requirement for writing competency. I am dedicated to facilitating the development of nursing professionals who are capable of documenting and writing in a way that demonstrates intellect, grasp of science as a basis for evidence in practice, and the ability to utilize resources (e.g., reference librarians, APA reference materials, student academic support services, etc.) to achieve outcomes that facilitate the delivery of the highest level of care that our patients/clients deserve.

Choo, J., & Kang, H. (2015). Predictors of initial weight loss among women with abdominal obesity: A path model using self-efficacy and health-promoting behaviour. Journal of Advanced Nursing, 71(5), 1087-1097. 10.1111/jan.12604 [doi] To identify predictors of initial weight loss among women with abdominal obesity Longitudinal study design using a path model 75 women with abdominal obesity, who were enrolled in a 12-month Community-based Heart and Weight Management Trial who were followed until a 6-month assessment.
The Weight Efficacy Lifestyle, Exercise Self-Efficacy and Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile-II measured diet self-efficacy, exercise self-efficacy and health-promoting behavior respectively. Data were collected between May 2011-May 2012. Increases in both diet and exercise self-efficacy had significant effects on increases in health-promoting behavior. Nursing strategies for increasing self-efficacy for weight control and health-promoting behavior may be essential components for better weight loss in the initial stage of a weight management intervention.
