Assessment Description
Using the organisation chosen for Assessment 1, you are to apply your learnings
from the capstone topics and apply them to the organisation by undertaking
additional research.
Again, assuming the role of an organisational consultant, students are to write a
report that clearly articulates the organisation’s strategy and business model and
outlines a detailed approach to Competition Strategy (Week 3 lecture), how the
chosen organisation’s performance is/can be measured against their strategies
(Week 4 lecture). You will also be required to prepare a balanced scorecard for their
chosen organisation (Week 7 lecture). Attention should be paid to the use of
secondary research and insights (Week 8 lecture).
Findings should be presented in a report of 2,000 words (+/-10%).
Areas covered should include:
• An executive summary. (not included in wordcount)
• An introduction that summarises the purpose of the report. (150 words)
• A summary of the organisation’s strategy. (400 words)
• A specific outline of the Organisation’s approach to competition strategy,
performance measurement and balanced scorecard. (600 words)
• A summary of recommendations that identify areas of focus and opportunity
to enhance the organisation’s performance in the future. (600 words)
• A conclusion. (150 words)
• Reference: require minimum five useful sources with Harvard Reference style.

2, You must go through the lectures content in the attachment, and apply some of
the theories and frameworks from the lectures.

Assessment Content (Subject Specific) OUT OF 80 MARKS
Introduction and Executive Summary (15%): Provides excellent context and links to the
assessment in an extremely clear and coherent way.
Summary of the organisation’s competitive strategy (15%): The strategy is excellently
presented, extremely thorough and identifies all the pertinent issues.
Outline of the organisation’s performance measurement and Balanced scorecard
(20%): Excellent evaluation of the organisation’s activities that are thoroughly
substantiated by learnt concepts or research.
Recommendations (20%): Recommendations are excellent and highly useful or actionable.
May be thoroughly and clearly supported by research or theory.
Conclusion (10%): The conclusion is excellently written and brings out all the salient points
of the report.
Structure Format and Presentation (Consistent across all courses) OUT OF 20 MARKS
Logical flow (5%): The report is written extremely clearly and logically.
Writing & Grammar (5%): Writing is of an excellent standard with negligible errors.
Format & Word Count (5%): Format of the report and wordcount thoroughly follow KBS
guidelines.
Referencing (5%): Negligible errors and/or inconsistent application of Harvard referencing
conventions.
