Situation
Your Team has become famous as Conflict Resolution Consultants and a follower of the Ken Blanchard Situational Leadership Model. The CEO of Asnuntuck has contacted your Team to help her with a problem that has developed in the Business Department.
The Facts
Four new faculty members have been transferred from other Connecticut Community Colleges to work in Asnuntuck’s Business Department.
These new faculty do not like being at Asnuntuck or teaching the business courses and they actually hate each other ~ not dislike, hate.
While they all seem to tolerate the Department Chair, BooBoo, the concern is that soon they will start fighting with him as well.
BooBoo has had an increasingly difficult time talking with them, and they often object to something just to be difficult.
Each was a senior faculty member on their former campus. This means they cannot be fired because they have had years of very good performance reviews; thus, it will be a minimum of three or four years before there can be any consideration of firing them.
They will still be teaching four courses per semester and BooBoo feels that this would ruin the Business Program.
