Career Wanderings Project Instructions Part 1: Consolidate your “career wanderings” (this is a term from the Brooks text) for the semester into a series of four visuals. These visuals can contain collages, drawings, word clouds/art, etc. Your first visual represents where you have been; your second visual represents where you are now; your third visual should represent where you want to go; and your fourth visual should represent how you are going to get there. These visuals should be enhanced or reimagined versions of wandering maps and contain pictures, symbols and other material, not just words, and they should be included in the essay portion of this project. Part 2: You will write a 2000-2500 word essay explaining your visuals and the answers to the questions “where have I been, where am I now, where do I want to go, and how will I get there?” Make sure to include your visuals in the essay–I want to see them in the document when I read the essay. In part three you will deliver a presentation where you display the series of wanderings maps and discuss your career journey. You are expected to use the sum of the knowledge and reflections (Yellowdig/other assignments) done in this course to write a well-informed and reflective essay. Be creative and have fun with your visuals! You should integrate course content and include reflection on at least one activity or set of readings (minimal requirement) you completed for/in this class for each question. Essays should prioritize integrating personal experience with course content.
