Corruption Plaguing the Glynn County Police Department

850-950 word essay on local (for me) topic in third person without references. The thesis obviously goes in
the last sentence of the opening paragraph, and she wants “problem/solution” format – or words like them – in
the thesis statement. (Such as “In order to solve X problem, A, B, and C can be done.”) In each body

paragraph, she wants the clear topic sentence to mention the problem and the solution (Such as “One way to
solve X problem is to do A.”) before we briefly discuss the opposition to that particular solution. Then we
are to dismiss the opposition’s point and close the paragraph by coming back to the problem and solution.
The closing paragraph is to begin with a restated thesis that includes the problem and solution. Honestly,
what I had first sounded great, but then she added the problem/solution requirements (8 total). Now it sounds
redundant and choppy to me, even with the use of words other than problem/solution. It no longer flows, and
I cannot think of one business proposal where you would mention synonyms of problem and solution eight
times within three pages. However, those are her rules.
