Capstone-Applied Project
Needs to be 40 pages of content, double-spaced, 12-point font, times new romans, APA style, one-inch
margins. Needs to have an abstract/executive summary (issue or problem, purpose of the study, what data
that will be collected, themes, statistical results, or integrated findings that are likely and practical
implications of the study), table on contents, introduction, issue or problem statements-stimulate interest
while conveying the issue (begins with narrative hook, easily understood by many readers, builds readers’
interest through reference to study participants or posing questions, clearly identify the issue(s) or problem(s)
that lead to a need for the study, indicate why the problem is important by citing numerous references,
literature review-using primary data-be careful re: ethical issues, methodology (research design, data
collection & data analysis), findings, discussion, recommendations, future research (where the next person
should go) and conclusions. 15 pages-rewrite and 25 pages-from scratch of content. Quantitative Study
I. Introduction- (personal experience, debate in the literature, gaps that need to be addressed, & policy debates)
a. Problem Statement
b. Solution- Mobile Units
Question: 1. What is the efficacy of Mobile Aids Awareness Units
2. Are the Mobile Units effective?
Why is your study important- Because there is a paucity of research in this area?
Worldview- Conceptual framework can be Critical Theory. Aids is a disability
Purpose Statement- Is Aids Healthcare Foundation’s mobile unit program effective?
What is effective? Aids awareness and testing is increasing each year.
II. Literature Review- (to provide background information, establish importance-strengths & weakness, demonstrate familiarity & “carve out a space” for further research)
History of Aids
How the organization (Aids Healthcare Foundation) provides aids awareness
The role of mobile testing units
Mobile testing units across the country
Research Design
III Case Study
Narrative about Aids Healthcare Foundation
Strategic Plan- of the organization goals
Logic Model
The purpose of this summative evaluation is to determine if aids awareness increased using mobile units
Scope of the evaluation
Data gathering- Primary data from the organization (Aids Healthcare Foundation)
Data analyses- Looking at changes in outputs and outcomes
Discussion
Internal and External Validity
Findings and Recommendations
