The essay should answer one of the following questions that you can choose, and that would be the focus
argument of the paper.
- What is the importance of the book’s title?
- What role does the reader play in
this narrative?
- In what ways is memory important to this book?
Structure of the paper:
Include an introductory paragraph with a thesis statement that presents the argument
and answers the question, and describes what you’re going to be discussing throughout the essay. Highlight
the thesis in the introductory paragraph, so it is clear. Then the 3 body paragraphs will include Topic
Sentence that introduces what you’ll talk about in that paragraph, an Explanation, Evidence to prove your
argument, and Explanation that represents a connection to the thesis, and story as a whole. Include this step
for all 3 body paragraphs.
