You must go to at least 1 concert (and must stay for the WHOLE concert) and type a 1 to 2 page (single-spaced) report about your experience and observations, including some elements of music discussed in class (ex. instruments/voices, elements of music, historical era of music, style, etc.) Yes, you can do research but primarily I am not interested in what Google has to say about the music heard at the concert, I am interested in your observations and opinions. Make sure to include the date and location of the performance, the name of the performance and the musicians/ensemble, and a description of the repertoire. Include a print program with your report if available, especially for all classical performances. Concerts not on the list may be attended only with permission. If there are extenuating circumstances that prevent the attendance of any performances, a concert of the instructor’s choice or which has the instructor’s approval may be watched online with permission. Online concerts would be LONGER (2-3 pages).
