Mid Term Exam – APA Style
Students are encouraged to use outside resources for the exam questions. All answers should meet acceptable standards of grammar and structure.
Answers should be two pages in length per question.
1. You have been selected as the director of a government department. What do you need to know about your new department’s finances?
2. Why is cash flow important to government entities? How does an administrator plan for cash flow? What tools are available for this purpose?
3. What is financial condition, and how is it determined? How should financial conditions be monitored? Does your state monitor the financial condition of local governments? If yes, how is this done?
4. You are a budget analyst in a state where actual revenues will not meet budget estimates. You have been directed to prepare a budget reduction plan to meet 2%, 5%, and 10% shortages. You are three months into the budget year. Prepare a report outlining your plan for each level of reductions.
