Your research proposal should be clear and concise. Once approved, the title of your research project should not be changed and will not be allowed to be changed. Thus, you should make your title correct and final. The proposal will be studied by the MBA Committee and its final decision will be sent to you ASAP.
1. INTRODUCTION
Here where you should set the proper stage for your study. Introduce your research project by giving a brief background of the problem to be studied. You need to capture the attention of the readers in these few lines. By highlight the relevant history and using the proper referencing techniques, explain why this study should be done. In the next subsections, you should use evidences (facts, statistics, figures, and works by other authors) to convince us that your proposed research topic is:
Important, interesting and not already over-researched.
Feasible (in terms of scope, resources and a time frame).
Useful topic within the scope of business field. Please highlight the links between your research project and the courses topics/knowledge and skills learned in the MBA Program.
1.1 The research problem
Describe shortly and precisely the problem you would like to study and research.
1.2 Research objectives
List the objectives you would like to accomplish by the end of your research project.
1.3 The research questions
Use your objectives to formulate research questions. For each objective there should be a corresponding question.
1.4 The purpose of the study
Explain what the purpose of this study is and what are the possible contributions to be made? Explain why this study is feasible and how it is going to contribute to the literature in this regard.
2. LITERATURE REVIEW
Provide a brief literature review of your research problem and its related issues. The purpose is to provide insights into the previous research work done by others and to give an overall view of the issues related to the research problem within the relevant context and background. Provide a good summary of the history of the problem and recent achievements available in the literature on the proposed research. Highlight any shortcomings and gaps in the literature about the topic you intend to research. You can also underline any conceptual, theoretical and methodological approaches used by others in studying the problem. This will help you decide on your own research strategies, approaches and methodologies.
3. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Describe the research approach and methodology and highlight the main research steps and methods of your study to be followed.
3.1 Research design
Explain whether you are following a qualitative, a quantitative or a mixed research design. Indicate whether your research is exploratory, descriptive, explanatory or predictive, hypothesis generating or hypothesis testing.
3.2 Data types and sources
Briefly explain the type of data you may use in your research and state the expected sources of your research data, e.g., surveys, interviews, ..etc.
3.3 Data collection techniques
Explain how the research data will be collected from each source you mentioned above. Describe how you will obtain access to these data-sources. For example, describe how surveys/questionnaires will be designed and tested. Give details of where? when? how? the data will be collected.
Provide details of the sampling sizes, methods and techniques to be used which should be consistent with the purpose and objectives of your study. Relate your sampling to what you wish to do.
3.7 Data analysis and interpretation
Explain any special data analysis and interpretation methods and techniques you are planning to use in the research study. Please note that there must be a strong relationship between your the proposed research problem, research objectives, chosen research approach and methodology, data gathering technique and your analysis and interpretation strategies.
4. TIMEFRAME AND WORK PLAN
Highlight the main the steps in the plan for your research project and state the proposed schedule/timeframe for your study.
5. REFERENCES
List all references you have used and write them using one international standard and format.
