Assignment Paper

Purpose
If the introduction is the brain of the essay, and the thesis statement is the backbone, the body of the essay is…well…the body. Okay, more specifically, like all
of the organs, veins, arteries, muscles, and joints in your body that are connected to each other and the brain through a complex series of systems, the body
paragraphs of an essay contain all of the little things that connect the introduction to the conclusion and individual body paragraphs to each other. And, like
in real life, something that happens in one part of the body impacts the way the whole body functions. I’m just saying, the body is a big deal!
For this assignment, you will write at least three paragraphs developing your essay’s subtopics using clear topic sentences, specific details or examples, and
explanations of those details or examples, and logical transitions that make your reasoning clear.
Writing Task
Revisit the questions from SWR #1
What is one piece of media or pop culture that has had an impact on you?
How did you come to learn about that piece of media or pop culture?
Was the impact that this text had on you positive or negative or mixed?
How has your relationship with the text changed over time?
Overall, how would you assess this text? Is it something that you think others should engage with? Why or why not? Do you have any tips for how others
might get the most out of engaging with this text?
Write at least three paragraphs (125-150 words for each paragraph) addressing these questions. Each paragraph should include the following:
o A transition sentence or phrase
o A topic sentence
o Details, examples, and/or evidence
o Explanation of the details, examples, and/or evidence
o A concluding sentence
