• Determine a tool that is appropriate for the materials chosen (e.g., Gunning Fog, SAM, PEMAT, similar checklist).

Overview
Health Education materials are one of the most widely used sources of providing health information; therefore, it is essential for nurses to ensure that materials provided to clients (e.g., brochures, pamphlets, booklets, websites, videos etc..) are appropriate for client learning. Materials required for client education may not always be readily available or current and can be costly. Nurses may be required to develop their own materials to support and enhance client teaching. Therefore, it is important for nurses to be able to evaluate materials clients may be accessing.

The goal of this critique assignment is to:
• Analyze a health-related educational material (see above) while applying relevant course concepts.
• Demonstrate the use of theory and evidence that support the process of education.
• Demonstrate assessment of the learner, who the material is intended for, including the readability of the material; and
• Assist in preparations for a health teaching experience.

The intended audiences would be young adults aged 18-35.
