Nearpod Application and Literacy

Frame and present the research question: Approximately 1-2 pages) The justification for the research question is described in the introduction. Begin with a
strong opening sentence that draws your reader in and sets the stage for your paper.
In the introduction of your research synthesis project, you will do three main things, which are called Moves:
Move 1: Establish your territory (describe the topic). Because this is a scholarly project, use third person writing. Be an objective researcher and avoid bias.
Move 2: Establish the rationale (demonstrate why further research is needed on your particular topic). Explain the reasons why the research matters. One
way to do this is to show evidence of the originality of your topic or the absence of literatur connecting your ideas together. The rationale is not your personal
reason for exploring the research topic, nor is it based on opinion. Frame your research in terms of how it might have potential to make an academic
contribution to the field/area of specialization that you are exploring.
Move 3: State your research question and how you will address it in your paper (summarize what we already know). This is the section where you briefly
present an overview of the organizational structure of your project.
The first paragraph of the introduction should introduce the topic. The body of the introduction should provide sound rationale from the literature on the
significance of the topic. The last paragraph of the introduction should present the question of interest for the paper.
Literature Review
Utilize a minimum of twenty current scholarly, peer-reviewed resources. This will be the heart of your paper and should consist of approximately 18-22 pages
of writing. Below are some guidelines to consider as you develop the content for your literature review.
Rationale. (Why does your topic matter?) Begin by building the details of your case. Provide statistical evidence. THIS PART IS DONE/COMPLETED ALREADY.
Concept 1. (What does your reader need to know to follow your discussion?) Do not assume your reader is familiar with any of the concepts in your paper.
Elaborate on the concept. (What is helpful to know beyond the definition?)
Concept 2. (What other main topics inform this discussion?)
Connect your variables. (What is the research directly related to your question?) Continue to build your case by demonstrating the established researchbased correlations
Elaborate on this connection. (What else do we need to know to help answer our research question?)
Directions- Write a 18-20 page literature review, starting with an introduction. The rationale is next, which is already written. See the attachment. Then, use the
outline to write the literature review. The resources/sources are provided for you. There is already a reference page to use.
