First Peoples’ Health (Poster)

D​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍​escription You will make a poster that gives an epidemiological overview of ONE of these chronic health conditions, prevalent among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples: • Respiratory disease • Depression • Cancer To assist you in responding to the task, you have been provided with a list of resources and a poster template, you will find these below. Make sure you use the resources provided but also you should look for sources beyond this. Please use the template as a guide, you can rearrange the layout of this template as you see fit (please ensure you use PowerPoint to create your poster). You will be marked on your creativity and the presentation of engaging information. Regardless of how you choose to format your poster, please incorporate all the components as detailed in the labelled boxes on the poster template, i.e. what is the disease, epidemiological data, risk factors etc. Once you have chosen your topic, read through your resources and completed your own research, create the poster (let the poster template guide you). Some tips in creating your poster are: • Provide all information as detailed by the labelled boxes on the poster template. • Keep your responses concise, directly related to the topic, and cover off th​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍​e key points. • A poster should be relatively quick to read. This means that you could use sub-headings, dot points, bullet points, and colour to create visual impact and viewer engagement. • Ensure that you add two relevant items which give visual impact (e.g. images, diagrams, graphs or tables), you can create these from scratch or source these from other places (be sure to cite these appropriately). • Support your responses with evidence from the resources, which are appropriately paraphrased, acknowledged, and referenced using the UniSA Harvard Referencing Style with in-text citations and a reference list. If you run out of space on your slide for references, you can use a new slide (only for references). A 750 word count has been allocated to this assessment, imagery you include on the poster will also contribute to this ‘word count’. So, please consider this as an ‘equivalent to 750 words’ rather than adhering strictly to 750 words.
