PROFESSIONAL ETHICS PAPER ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
The issues to address: What is the Biblical Worldview concerning ethics? What is “Professional Engineering Ethics”? How do they align in practice? Then select one or more case studies from a reputable source and discuss the ethical dilemma, how you would approach the situation, and the ultimate course of action. Include the provisions addressed within the Code of Ethics (ASCE or NSPE). Your paper should demonstrate an ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts (ABET SO4).
This project requires you to interact (refer to NSPE’s “Steps to Ethical Engineering Decisions”), probe, think, and prepare a 6–8-page (1500-2000 words) paper dealing with Professional Ethics. Include and tie in at least five (5) Scripture verses or passages in your paper (please do not include long passages within your report). The papers are due as indicated in Canvas (penalties assessed per the Late Assignment Policy as stated in the Syllabus).
I recommend starting early to develop some initial thoughts and let these thoughts incubate and grow. Good writing is not meant to use a “start the day before the deadline” approach.
