Research-based Argument Essay: 1300-2000 words, required length does not include title page or Reference page, which are required for this assignment.
Research a topic that is healthcare-related and that you can argue for or against. Think about this as a problem-solution essay that sets the scope of a problem – often one you encounter as part of your professional experience – and then argues for solutions to the problem.
How controversial the topic may be is entirely up to you, though I discourage you from writing about certain over-done and rarely-down-well topics (euthanasia/physician-assisted suicide, medical marijuana, mandatory vaccination, designer babies, genetic cloning, savior siblings etc.). While safe staffing and nurse-patient ratios are very valid topics, these MUST be viewed in context of practical workload issues that can be remedied within your scope of practice. This topic cannot be written about from the broader context of legislative action, because that scope is too large for this assignment’s parameters and will not lead you to be successful with this assignment.Create an argumentative claim statement that reflects your research and that employs effective argument appeals.
