Health Care Systems

There are about 200 countries on our planet, and each country devises its own arrangements for meeting the healthcare needs and safety of their people. We do not, though, have to study all the local variations of these countries regarding their healthcare systems.

Basically, they all follow four basic healthcare models, namely:

1. The Beveridge model

2. The Bismarck model

3. The national health insurance model

4. The out-of-pocket-model

· Discuss the different types of healthcare models highlighting their characteristics, pros, and cons, and identifying countries that practice these models.

· Answer the question : Why is the United States sometimes considered a “no model” country?
