As you have already learned, leadership roles are important in the workplace. These roles are taken on by employees at every level, from entry level positions to executive level positions. How we communicate and work with our colleagues is critical in cultivating a successful work environment. A transformative leadership approach is one approach that lends itself to a productive work environment.
For this practice writing, research transformative leadership, and in about 200 words or more, define and describe a transformative leader and explain what makes that leadership style different than any other leadership style. Below are a few sources that will help you learn more about this approach. Feel free to conduct additional research on your own. There’s an abundance of information available online.

CITING SOURCES: Please be sure to use your own words and remember to cite the information you share from sources. Any time you use information from an outside source, it must be cited, even if what you present is in your own words. See Presenting Research in a Meaningful Way to learn how to cite sources in this course. Research must include an attributive tag AND an end citation.
For example, an attributive tag should be included when you present research as this gives the research credibility; for example, In the article, “Knowing your Evidence,” John Smith, an expert in forensic analysis, explains that……. (31). This shows the reader where the research came from, and that the person being referenced is credible because we know his credentials. There must also be an end citation in addition to the attributive tag – it’s not enough to just have an attributive tag.
Having both an attributive tag (name of article, author, and author’s credentials) and end an end citation (“31” in this example), tells the reader when the research starts and when it ends. This is not an option in this course. If you have a direct quote, you must include the page or paragraph number.
FORMAT: Single-spaced paragraphs with an extra space between paragraphs. Assignments that have more than one part should be labeled and separated by parts, but they should be submitted in one document.
Practice writings will offer you an opportunity to practice the communication skills you need to present in your major writing assignments and or offer you an opportunity to research a topic we will be working on. Some of the assignments will be based on the readings and or conducting research. The practice writings (sometimes presentations) will help you succeed on your major writing assignments.
