Research Project: Proposal
Completion requirements
Research Project. Choose a topic of interest to research. The topic should be related to teaching and learning and be of interest to you based on what you know of your calling to ministry at this time. Some examples of topics are teaching youth, teaching adults, teaching the Bible, teaching in small groups, how children learn, technology and teaching the Bible, and others. Submit your “Research Plan” with an outline of what you are interested in researching and your planned process for researching the interest. Topic and method will be submitted for approval of the instructor during Week 2.
Completion requirements
Describe the skill that you plan to learn throughout the remainder of the course.
Skill Learning Exercise. In order to reflectively experience learning and evaluate the learning process, choose a new skill that you want to learn. What have you been wanting to learn to do but lacked the time? A home repair? A kitchen skill? A sports skill? A computer skill? Choose something tangible that you have wanted to learn. Receive approval from the instructor on your chosen skill by the end of week 2. After spending time over the course of the 8-week course learning this new skill, write a 2-page reflection paper on the process of learning this skill. Incorporate principles of learning and teaching that are discussed in this course to organize your own experiences and reflections. For example, rather than simply sharing your own feelings of motivation or lack thereof, frame those reflections in a discussion of theories and principles related to motivation and learning that you have learned from the course.
