SSMART Proposal Presentation

Instructions
Develop a SSMART* proposal for your anti-racism project. Remember, for this project, you are going
to design and implement a doable project aimed at challenging, disrupting, and/or dismantling the
instance of local racial injustice that you previously identified. You are encouraged to search the
Internet for anti-racism strategies to support the formulation of your ideas. The United Nations “Let’s
Fight Racism” website and resources may be a good place to start
(https://www.un.org/en/letsfightracism/).
Develop a SSMART plan to implement a project targeting the local instance of racial injustice
that you previously identified. The plan must include a brief description of the racial injustice,
your proposed project, a description of how you will implement the project, and a statement
on how the proposed project reflects the values and principles of the profession (from Week
01). Minimally, the plan must include:
S = Setting. Describe the setting of your project (i.e., within an organization, in a community,
at the state level, online, etc.).
S = Specific. Provide a detailed description of your project. What will you actually “do” and
how will you do it?
M = Measurable. Describe how you will assess the impact of your project. Include how you
will submit specific evidence of the completion of your project (i.e., a letter from an agency
administrator, photos, video, website, etc.).
A = Attainable. Describe how your plan is attainable. Consider your access to resources (i.e.,
time, transportation, access to decision-makers) and the extent to which those resources
may impact attainment.
R = Realistic. Describe the extent to which you feel the implementation of this project is
realistic.
T = Time-oriented. How will you implement your activities within the timeline of this class and
assignment due dates?
