This paper attempts to make a point as to whether rwanda, in its current state, can be considered a
developmental success story.
Firstly there would be a need to define what can be defined as a success story by drawing on ideas from
Johan Galtung. His seminal work article is called violence, peace and peace research, but he’s written quite a
lot more recently about negative and positive peace which would be the basis to how I would see a success
story, as being at peace
Drawing upon articles relating to still prevailing ethnic tensions, the rate of incarceration, the phenomena of
memorialization and potentially looking in to the work of Elisabeth Wood pertaining to rwanda.
