For this essay,
you will pick a company or organization and analyze how they use rhetoric on their website to increase
sales and/or support from consumers. You will provide an account of the company’s argument while
paying special attention to the multiple rhetorical forces at play. A successful essay will include:
• A developed introduction (and conclusion) of the company, its website, and its
argument/purpose, as well as a strong thesis guiding the reader through the essay
• Discussion of at least three claims made by the company along with supporting evidence
• Identification and analysis of at least three strategies, discussing how and why the company
employs each strategy
• Discussion of the audience that explains whom the company is targeting, why it chose that
specific audience, and how it works to connect with the audience
• Evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the company’s rhetoric, including suggestions for
improvement and/or how the company can reach a broader audience
• Quotes and screenshots from the website to support your analysis. You must also include quotes
from all three of the following sources (see Canvas) throughout your analysis:
